What is CBD oil? What is hemp oil?
The terms CBD oil, and Hemp oil, are often used interchangeably to describe the extract of industrial hemp. CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of 124 different molecules called cannabinoids found in cannabis.
Just like it’s more popular sister, Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), some studies show that CBD offers a large amount of health benefits…but without the “high” that is associated with THC.
People are looking to CBD products to help with symptoms from conditions such as pain and inflammation. Studies also show CBD can also help with mental issues such as anxiety and depression.
Interesting Fact: There is actually a pharmaceutical grade CBD product that exists to help manage seizures associated with epilepsy. The prescription drug is called Epidiolex.
How often should I use my CBD product?
Everyone will respond differently to most substances – this includes CBD products. What we recommend to all first-time users is start with the recommended dosage, and work your way up from there.
The goal is to use the least amount of CBD necessary to see a result. For example, if you are experiencing some bad back pain, take a CBD product. You’ll notice the effects wane over time, just like with other medications. Take more as needed.
Why do people take CBD instead of marijuana?
This is a really common question. Essentially, our CBD extracts contain all of the beneficial molecules that a cannabis plant would, except for the THC. Hemp and marijuana are different plants, but both fall under the cannabis plant species.
Our products are THC free (less than 0.3% THC content), so that means you are reaping all of the health benefits that are associated with cannabis, minus the psychoactive molecule of THC. Not everyone enjoys the way THC makes you feel.
Interesting Fact: Did you know our bodies have an Endocannabinoid System? It is fully functioning, and we actually have CB receptors in our bodies!

Are all CBD products the same?
Absolutely not.
In fact, according to the FDA, roughly 25% of CBD products sold are either fake or mislabeled. See this image below that shows the findings of their study.
Remember, CBD is still widely unregulated, so some companies are trying to take advantage of people by selling knock-off products (like hemp seed oil) through the guise of genuine CBD.
Regardless of who you purchase your CBD products from, please make sure they are a reputable company with legitimate products.
What's the best way to take CBD items?
From drops, to gummies, to toothpaste…CBD products come in all types of different forms.
New Phase Blends recommends taking CBD drops under the tongue so your sublingual vein can get the CBD into the bloodstream as quickly as possible.
The bio-availability of CBD when placed under the tongue is MUCH higher than when letting the stomach get involved.
While gummies taste good and are ‘neat’, the efficacy is drastically reduced since they have to go through the digestive tract. New Phase Blends bases all products around science, not being ‘delicious’ or ‘neat.’ That said, we do try to improve the flavoring a little bit 🙂

Is CBD safe?
The second most common question people have when it comes to CBD oil for pain management or its anti-inflammatory properties is whether or not it is safe to use. CBD is actually very safe.
Patients are always concerned with side effects (as they should be). According to some top health experts and agencies, the answer is, yes. CBD is safe to use. It is also non-addicting, and non-intoxicating.
While CBD has not received a ‘GRAS‘ (generally recognized as safe) certification from the FDA (yet), we are confident this will happen in the near future.
Is CBD legal?
Hemp-derived CBD is federally legal in all 50 states. CBD made from marijuana, with high levels of THC, is only legal in states that have legalized marijuana.
All CBD oil sold by New Phase Blends is considered THC Free (meaning less than 0.3% THC content).
For more information, please see the FDA’s regulation of cannabis and cannabis-derived products.

Interesting fact: Originally, marijuana use and sales became illegal under the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937, with this illegality continuing under the Controlled Substances Act. Yet, since then, several states have taken the steps to legalize this drug, even if just for use as medical cannabis.
Where should I store my CBD oil?
Buy something from our CBD shop? New Phase Blends recommends storing your CBD oil in a cool, dark place. In a shelf or closet will suit fine. Just avoid exposure to light (as it may discolor your CBD oil) and heat/extreme cold (as it may crystallize your CBD oil).
Overall, the most important thing to remember is keeping your CBD out of extreme heat. This will melt CBD edibles, and cause issues with liquids.

What's the difference between broad spectrum and full spectrum CBD?
Broad spectrum and full spectrum CBD extract is the same thing, exact for one thing:
